Paris, In the Footsteps of Kings and Queens

Anecdotes are the gleanings left over from the vast harvest field of history; they are details that have been long hidden, hence their name of anecdotes; the public is interested in them when they concern illustrious personages.

a Guided Historical Walking tour through Paris

I love history. And this is why you will love my History Walks.

As a former history teacher I have spent years making history come alive, pulling out the interesting bits, the funny stories, the tragic and bloody tales of the past. History is so much more than just dates in a dusty old book, and Paris history is more than just the introduction in your travel guide.

Did you know, for example, that France was once under attack by Attila the Hun? Or that a French queen was literally torn apart on a Parisian street corner? Did you hear about the young king who ordered a massacre of his own people? Or what about the French king who held Paris under siege for a whole year? The king who kidnapped someone else’s wife and forced her to marry him? Or the rumours surrounding a poisonous mistress?

There are so many stories I can’t even fit them all in to this guided history walk through Paris! Two thousand years of kings, queens, mistresses, love, adultery, castles, murders, invasions and treason.

If you would love to know more about the French monarchy, the good, the bad, the strange, the gory and the quite frankly bizarre, join me on a Paris History Walk; a gentle, conversational style meander across bridges, along ancient streets, through palaces and parks, following in the footsteps of the kings and queens of France.
